Crystal Gazing
What’s one thing you want to do this year that you haven't done before?
This question was posed in a contest hosted by @thepassenger, and I happen to have responded with an answer that was brief, considering responses were only to be left in the comment section. This writing will give a much more in depth explanation of what I will be doing this year that will be extraordinary.
Last year - 2017
Every year I do something spiritual, and eventful. Last year I went to Taos for my birthday to look for my Native American drum. By the way, I am half Native American and I had searched for a drum for three years prior to finding the one that was right for me. I did not find my drum in Taos, but the search led me to the right drum maker. Last year, I also made it to Santa Fe, New Mexico and a lovely hot spring located on ancient Native American lands. The trip was very healing and centering.
I realized that I wanted a buffalo skin hand made drum using the ancient method without the use of chemicals, and scraping using a special tool. Typically, this way of making drums is handed down generation to generation. I was not sure of the size or color, but I did know I wanted something dark in color. Through my tribal network I was able to locate an amazing drum maker and she is amazing.
This year - 2018
This year is going to be spectacular, not that I attempt to beat every year with something better, but I do happen to love adventure. So, you never know what I have planned.
For the year 2018, I have been invited to the Flagstaff and Sedona areas to learn Crystal Gazing by a Navajo Chief. It has been over 20 years since I visited Sedona so I am very excited. You might wonder what is Crystal Gazing? Well, it is a Navajo traditional healing practice. Yes, I am a healer as well from a long line of Medicine people so to be invited by a different tribe altogether and learn a different modality is quite an honor.
According to the Navajo and many First Nation, the cause of illness is an imbalance in the Universe. A ceremony is done in order to restore the imbalance. Once a diagnosis is made, then a 'sing' is conducted by the medicine man. In many tribes, it is believed that our body can heal itself and along the way we lost the knowledge to actuate this process.
One of the many teachings that I give as well as many of the Medicine people I associate with share the way to actually heal one self. It is only through belief and sometimes the help of song that we are able to reach within our self to do what we have the power to do. The real human history has been robbed from us, that to even think that this is possible is commonplace. However, there are more people coming to the realization that self healing is not only possible, but a natural process of regeneration.
After the Crystal Gazing teachings, I will also take a trip to one of Mother Earth's ley lines found in Sedona, AZ. If you do not know what an earth ley line is, they are vibrational vortexes that can be found throughout earth. Sedona has different types of vortexes, which is what makes it special. There are magnetic, electrical, and balanced vortexes.
According to Native American tradition, places such as Sedona, Arizona are only used for sacred space and ceremony. People technically should not live in a location where ceremony is taking place, especially a location that has such high energy vibrations as Sedona.
Some of the physical symptoms one will feel when near a high vortex location is dizziness, nauseous, energy vibrations, tingling in the hands and feet, hot and cold temperatures, buzzing, and/or a sense of energy shift or awareness. A person such as myself, who is a high sensitive may feel everything.
A word of caution is that any vortex location is an amplifier. This means that emotions will be amplified. If a person is depressed, irritated, or agitated these feeling will be magnified.
The Navajo Chief and I will travel to Sedona to hold a closing ceremony with a blessing to Mother Earth and her inhabitants. Yes, this will be an extraordinary year. Blessings.

This is going to be one amazing journey!
I hadn't seen the chakra system image of Sedona before, but wow! That is very interesting!
Can't wait to see how the trip there goes for you. What a wonderful healing energy to enjoy.
I know right!!!
Yeah isn't it amazing? Sedona is a special place, I can't wait to go back, especially to hold ceremony.
Thank you so much and blessings to you. xx Eagle
Go with fire in your heart and your mind open to wonder. Go with fear and trembling as you seek the sky father. Go with peace and love, and with joy of celebration for the gifts of mother earth. Listen to the song of the wind, the whispering of the sage. I hope all things will be revealed to you and you are blessed with the resurrection power of the holy spirit that your craft may prosper to glorify the creator of all things. ..nuf said.
Wow, that's amazing. LOL
Very lovely and beautiful prayer! xx Eagle
Your drum is beautiful! When you write about healing, I see all the heard work and years of learning that you have done. Being a healer and everything that you do takes dedication and love. What I love about what you are doing is that you do it the way your ancestors have done it. The way it should have always been. Beautiful post! I look forward to seeing more like this ^_^ xx <3
Hey thank you so much about the drum. :)
Awww yes a lot of learning and processing the natural gifts is quite a road.
Thank you for recognizing all that there is and seeing me. YOu are so very kind.
I am so happy and appreciative of you, I would love to meet you too at some point.
Many blessings to you and yours. xx Eagle
And blessing to you and your family as well! xxx
I appreciate and accept your blessings. Hugs.
you mention tht the cause of illness is bcause of hte imbalance of nature. i gotta agree to you on this because even in chinese medicine, yin and yang is all about balance. n imbalance could also cause illness. for example: if u gotta drink more water during summer, take chicken soup during winter. it is just one of it. I'm thinking to compile a series about chinese medicine too in my steemit blog. gotta organized them first...
this is the navajo way of thinking, and it has a lot to do with chemicals and imbalance in water, etc.
i have my thoughts on a lot of this, but i was just mentioning the navajo way of crystal gazing. your thought
process sounds like a good one! i love chinese medicine!
This is very interesting. It's great that you are keeping strong connections to your cultural and spiritual heritage and beliefs. 2018 does sound like it will be a spectacular year for you. You seem like an amazing person. Thanks for sharing!
yes culture and spirituality is very important to me. yes the year should be a good one. thank you for the amazing. blessings.
That's beautiful. @eaglespirit
A 3 month ago I read about the Native American and I was surprised because I knew they were very peaceful... I had a wrong idea about them because I thought they were savages and they ate people..hehe.... I think there's been a distortion of their reputation in films and cartoons...
I'm glad I have an Native friend so I can learn a lot about them.
Kind of sad that you just found out in 2018 that NA are not savages. SMH
Really sad. That statement actually kind of hurts my heart and this is why so many NA
are bitter and angry.
There have been many films since at least 2000 that are quite positive about NA, but the world is still
so ignorant.
