Lowering Estrogen
In an earlier post, I described how I bought a water distillation unit before Christmas and without modifying my diet or exercise have observed significant reduction of notches in my belt. I know a large part of my problem has to do with cortisol, but after watching this video, I wonder if drinking the distilled water has reduced the load of estrogens that I consume (unknowingly). Aside from food and packaging sources, the water that we drink contain significant hormone-mimicking chemicals.
Wastewater treatment plants were not originally designed to handle these compounds, widely used both commercially and residentially in products such as detergents, cleaning products and adhesives... these alkylphenols are just one subset of compounds that add up to produce adverse effects,” said Alan Vajda, an assistant professor of biology at the University of Colorado. “A little alkylphenol, a little estrogenic birth control … they all add up".
So in other words chemicals found in plastics and other commonly used products are circulating in our water systems. These chemicals are catalytic in nature ... they are not used but circulate and stimulate our bodies in ways that should not happen. Because the body treats them as a toxin, the get stored in fat and continue to act like estrogens.
