Oh shittttt, that sucks so freaking bad!! Years ago I lost an entire half a book I was writing due to a corrupted file and there was a lot of head screaming...then I decided maybe it was a sign that I should reevaluate where I was taking the story. It did work out for the best, so hopefully that's the case for you too! So sorry that happened to you!
I lost what was supposed to be a book as well, over a decade ago. I didn't write anything for many years after that.
