Bees Aluminium

in #life7 years ago (edited)

As I have read and seen the documentary posted by @tbnfl4sun , here are my below excerpts on the Bees Aluminium. What is it and how does it affect our complete food cycle, Read and let me know your feedback

Whenever anyone hears the word “Bee” the first two things that come to  his mind are- Honey and Bee Sting. And they depend on how close his childhood was to the bee hive and how often he disrupted it.

However, what most people don't realize is that these tiny yellow and black buzzing creature contrive much more to mankind than just honey. Those living in urban areas might speculate that bees are just another flying pest! But those living in farms, where most of our food comes from, know that bees play a big role in what ration we buy from the supermarket.

The importance of bees

Honeybees are the world's leading pollinators, and are responsible for $30 million of crops every year. According to the BBC, bees pollinate 70 of the nearly 100 species of crops that feed 90% of the world.

And what makes the matters worse is that these plants lie at the very bottom of the food chain. Animals eat them that in turn produce dairy products and most of the stuff we eat.

Without bees, the vast human population that has advanced so much in the recent centuries, would struggle to survive.

Bees under threat

Between April 2015 and April 2016, beekeepers in the United States lost 44 percent of their colonies and in the UK, beekeepers reported losses of almost 17 percent, according to the British Beekeepers Association.

And this trend is not just limited to the UK or the US, the threat is resonating in Asia too!

So what is causing this decline in the bee population?

Up until now reasons like pesticides, fertilizers and  climate change were given for the death of bees. Which are are true in to a certain extent.

But now a new threat has been brought to highlight. One that was hidden to us for a long time, and now is gaining attention.

Chem-trail conspiracy theorists had been from suite some time blaming ‘Geoengineering’ for a lot of things. Claims were being made that governments are spraying chemicals into the atmosphere to form sun-blocking artificial cloud cover. “Such spraying”, they claim, “.. are done in secret because these chemicals wreak havoc on environmental and human health, causing Alzheimer’s, all sorts of brain cancer.”

The attention is coming to such claims because a study by lead by the University of Sussex, and Keeley University found that Honeybees might be suffering from Aluminium poisoning.

The study was conducted in the bag-like form of  bumblebee- the larvae stage (before they emerge as fully grown adults). The scientists found that the pupae contained levels of aluminum between 13 and 200 ppm (parts per million). To put it in perspective, just 3ppm would 'be considered as potentially pathological in human brain tissue.'

Aluminium is a known neurotoxin, and many experts suggest that it it plays a role on diseases like the Alzheimer’s (though it is not conclusively proven).

Professor Exley, a leading authority on human exposure to aluminium, from Keele University said: "It is widely accepted that a number of interacting factors are likely to be involved in the decline of bees and other pollinators -- lack of flowers, attacks by parasites, and exposure to pesticide cocktails, for example.

"Aluminium is a known neurotoxin affecting behaviour in animal models of aluminium intoxication. Bees, of course, rely heavily on cognitive function in their everyday behaviour and these data raise the intriguing spectre that aluminium-induced cognitive dysfunction may play a role in their population decline -- are we looking at bees with Alzheimer's disease?"

Though the study suggests a lot, in order for conclusive understanding, more research is needed to look into whether the aluminium-induced poisoning is actually affecting the lifespan of the bees and their cognitive functions.

Bees are awesome!!! My parents have more then 100 hive and I grew up loving these wonderful creatures! The population of bees are declining due to many factors, as you said.
An other important factor that contributes to their decline is the cultivation of GMO plants that have very low nectar and pollen, so bees don't have enough food.
Hope that soon many will realize how much harm we are doing to the whole planet and implicit to us.

You are correct. Bees actually lays the foundation for the crop development. The food chain may get disturbed if bees aluminium continues

I liked reading this but I believe that it is more the pesticides than anything. I do not think Chem Trails are a thing. Airplanes just fly and they disturb the air as they go by. They are also burning get fuel, nothing special about it in my opinion. I think Monsanto is to blame for the Bees. Anyway Upped and Following.
