One thing people told me before in the past is to NEVER put all my eggs in one basket. While I believe that's true for investing, I don't necessarily believe that's true for real life applications. But what do I know?! Let me know your thoughts on it in the comments below :)

Hey guys and gals, I’ve been a student of life and love to learn new things. I've studied film, acting (film and theatre), Natural Medicines, Psychology, Business and Photography. I’ve read over 2,000 different books and consume at least 50 new books a year. I also owned and operated a Consultancy Firm for about 3 years and was a professor for Personal Development for one of the leading schools in the field called John Robert Powers. Aside from working with over 3 fortune 500 companies, I’ve also owned and operated over 4 businesses. Along with that, I've travelled all over Europe, South America and Asia doing non-profit work for Orphanages and shelters. I also speak from time to time to Youth Groups and Churches.
I believe that success is not our final destination. I don’t believe in failure, I believe in learning from mistakes. I believe that it’s okay to be obsessed. It’s evidence of passion in your life.

If you really know what you want, then it is inevitable that you put all your eggs in a single basket at some point in life
That's very true!
To not put all your eggs in one basket is not an advice to follow EVERYTIME.
Let me give some examples.
-I plan to marry only one wife, for the rest of my life. I want to put all my eggs in that single basket. I don;t want the drama and huge challenges that comes with having multiple relationships.
-I work to inspire and empower rural children and youths in Africa, presently. I am investing my time, resources and commitment to this single cause. I live with them, this is becoming my life already and I enjoy the heck out of it. It's like all my eggs are inside this basket. I love it deeply.
I agree, just like you, that in financial investments, you should diversify. I do this. But, in real life, this advice will not always work. In fact, it will hurt instead.
