HOW MUCH TIME DO YOU SPARE ON YOUR NEIGHBOR?

Yes, how much of ur time do u spare on ur neigbour?

This is one pensive question that crossed my mind recently and I think we should ask ourselves daily.

How much time do you have for that hawker in the street, that beggar under the bridge, that needful neighbour at home or your colleague at work?

Do you try adding value to their lives or do you just mind your business? Do you try creating a sense of worth in them or you leave them with deeper self-pity? Do they go refreshed by your presence or shattered beyond remedy?

Most times in our lives, we are confronted with one challenge or another from one social cirlce or the other or in our private lives which leave us drained of our strentgh and resources - with barley enough time to spare a glance around us. I'm use this is a fact you'd agree with.

Yes, you'd agree the pressure is such that we barely have time for ourselves much less for others who may not even be our relations for that matter; right?

But know what? Helping others does not necessarily take much from us. It could be a mere friendly banter, an advise, or gifting them that item you have at home but do not need.

Know what helping that fellow requires of you rather?

Willingness!

Yes, sheer willingness to add value to their lives and make their existence more meaningful. Every other thing we might see as impediments to rendering this social responsibilty to our neighbours are merely there because we lack the right will which would serve as a force of some sort to compel us in the right direction.

I recently came across a beautiful quote supposedly from a Zig Ziglar tape. The quote simply sums that those who help others succeed most often have all they want in life.

I'm not certain how true or erroneous that statement is; but personally, I find it rather challenging.

I really would love us all to give this a try and see if our lives don't alter for good...
