The Observatory at Decentraland University - Our inaugural project

I wanted to present this concept art of the interior of the Observatory we are working to build at the university. These early days of establishing districts in Decentraland are packed with hurdles and challenges to overcome - mostly around areas such as governance, finances, crypto and not to mention community management.
So it is fantastic to sit down with an artist, the wonderful James Smith (https://steemit.com/@jameshsmitharts), and take the first steps in bringing this project to life.

The plan for our MVP (Minimum Viable Product), is to have captivating model as shown in the illustration. We will not attempt to make the telescope work (be hooked up to real world telescopes) in phase 1 - that will come further down the road once the platform has matured. But we will present up to date images from sources such as the hubble space telescope on the screens you can see in the imagery.

We hope you decide to don a VR headset, and come and pay us a visit.
