Sometimes At Night I Just Feel Like Going To The Store

Did you ever get the urge to go to the store, cause you were hungry for something? Maybe you weren't even hungry, but you wanted to go anyway.

Sometimes I do that for some ice cream. So do any of you eat ice cream on a cold day? Yes, I do that sometimes, but what if you don't have any ice cream in your place?

Well, I think about it. Then I change my mind, telling myself I don't need any ice cream right now. Then the next day comes along and I get that ice cream feeling again.

Well, what is good about this store is that it stays open until 12 midnight. At one time it used to be a 24 hour a day store. I guess there wasn't enough traffic from 12 midnight to 6 am. So they started to close at 12 midnight.

Funny thing is in another town not too far away is another Winco that is 24 hours a day. I guess there is enough people going there between 12 midnight and 6 am to make it worth while.

I just looked up how Winco got their name. It mentions that it was called Waremart at one time. I guess that it started as a warehouse type of supermarket. Well, Winco does remind me of a warehouse type of store.

Also Winco comes from the five states where they first started out in Washington, Idaho, Nevada, California and Oregon. Well this is all new to me. So you take the first letter of each state in that order you get the letters of Winco.

Remember how I wrote in a recent blog that writing is therapeutic for me? Well, since I have been writing my want to go out and get some ice cream went away. I don't need any ice cream right now anyway.

I do take my mom to this store on her shopping days. We usually have a pattern of going to Costco first then after that we go to Winco.

Costco is another type of warehouse type of store, only at Costco it is more than groceries. You can buy appliances at Costco too. I did buy my top opening 7.2 cubit feet freezer.

One of the reasons I bought that freezer was that Curry's would sometimes sell large 3 gallon cylinders of ice cream for as low as $1. Well that sale only happens once in a great while. Most times I see them at $3 which is still pretty cheap.

Here we go with the ice cream again. Yes, I do like ice cream, but other reasons for having a freezer is storing produce that I grew or that was given to me.

Winco does not sell those 3 gallon containers. Sometimes I just want the half gallon container of rocky road ice cream. Winco is good for that.
