The Venus Project proposes an alternative vision of what the future can be if we apply what we already know in order to achieve a sustainable new world civilization. It calls for a straightforward redesign of our culture in which the age-old inadequacies of war, poverty, hunger, debt and unnecessary human suffering are viewed not only as avoidable, but as totally unacceptable. Anything less will result in a continuation of the same catalog of problems inherent in today's world.
Jacque Fresco (March 13, 1916 – May 18, 2017) was an American futurist and self-described social engineer. Self-taught, he worked in a variety of positions related to industrial design.
Fresco wrote and lectured his views on sustainable cities, energy efficiency, natural-resource management, cybernetic technology, automation, and the role of science in society. He directed the Venus Project and advocated global implementation of a socioeconomic system which he referred to as a "resource-based economy".
I've always been a fan of Jacque Fresco and his vision of the future where mankind works for the pursuit of passion and not out of greed. So sad he had to go. Hopefully blockchain will someday lead to the future much like he envisioned. Followed you @daniel82 glad to see a likeminded thinker. Thanks @daniel82 . Resteemed as well. I got my fingers crossed as well, as you see a lot of people are trying to centralize the crypto world. Take bitmain and other miners in Bitcoin for example, they've gained significant influence to dictate the course of action for bitcoin. They are doing exactly the opposite of what Satoshi Nakamoto envisioned for bitcoin.
@cryptoman01 As i see it, trying to controlle a decentralised currency is just a futile as the war on drugs! ofcorce they will try but ultimately they will fail because if bitcoin becomes centralised then we simply jump ship and use another crypto that is decentralised! :)
You are right. That is the reason why bitcoin marketshare has been dropping over the past couple of months. But the thing is bitcoin could have been the number one with so much margin if only they tried helping each other and looked out for the benefit of everyone bitcoin should now have been $25,000 or more.
Was very saddened to see Jacque Fresco leave us earlier this year. He has been a true inspiration to myself and many of my friends. I can only hope that his vision will keep on inspiring new innovators and entrepreneurs to think big and build a more sustainable world.
@fredrikaa, I couldnt agree more, jacque was way ahead of his time and it still saddens me that such an inspirational man is no longer with us, i take solace in the fact that he left us with such an amazing blue print!

Looking to initiate my steemit blog today or tomorrow. Will be touching on this topic a lot as it will be based on the work that I currently do at the European Space Agency, and sharing some of the stories I have from interviewing 25 Astronauts about the experence of seeing the world from afar, and how it shaped their world-view. (Often known as the "overview effect", and where the analogy of "spaceship earth" comes from).
