A lot of the biggest wins and losses in life are due to chance. We don't control for example what genetics we are born with, what environment we are born into, what obstacles we may have to over come. The parts which are not chance are based on what we learn and the attitude we carry. If we seek knowledge, are willing to adapt/change to create success rather than accept failure, then we are more likely to achieve in my opinion.

Often success requires sacrifice. Change isn't easy but is necessary if whatever we were doing in the past isn't working out so well compared to some new thing we started doing.
