Westworld - The New Science Fiction Western Series From HBO
Are you looking for a new television series to watch? Well look no further because I have the best show on TV right now to recommend. If you haven't heard of it already I would like to introduce you to HBO's latest original series Westworld.
HBO has pulled out all the stops in the creation of this series and there is a list of impressive and award winning names attached to it. Produced by JJ Abrams' legendary Bad Robot company it stars a cast you would you would normally expect to see in a high budget Hollywood movie. The cast includes names like Evan Rachel Wood, Thandie Newton, Jeffrey Wright, James Marsden, Shannon Woodward, Ed Harris, Anthony Hopkins and more bring this series to life with superb and extraordinarily subtle acting.
The series is inspired by the 1973 film written by Michael Crichton of the same name. It's a mix of science fiction and gun slinging western.

The program takes place in fictional Westworld, a technologically advanced, Western-themed amusement park populated completely by synthetic androids dubbed "hosts". Westworld caters to high-paying visitors dubbed "newcomers" (also known as "guests"), who can do whatever they wish within the park, without fear of retaliation from the hosts.
The show really makes you think. It delves in to existential questions spawning thoughts on the nature of consciousness and explores some very dark and twisted aspects of the human condition. Along the lines of other HBO series like Game of Thrones there is also plenty of sex and violence mixed in. If you are shy or squeamish about a little on screen blood and nudity this might not be the series for you.
Remember that episode of the Simpsons where they visit Itchy and Scratchy world where nothing could possibly go wrong? Well that was based on the 1973 Westworld.
