Power over something or someone means different things to different people and is highly influenced by motives and goals.

I am more inclined to favor the preceding quotes with the belief that they relate closely to this community and it culture.
Power dominates and it’s a fact that those who possess it have tendencies to abuse it for selfish reasons or for the sake of the “greater good”.

Application
Each member possesses power coming from the cooperative enterprise of SteemIt and from the power that comes with STEEM. Each one now has the capacity to do what is good and what is right.
We are given the resources and we have the capacity to act wisely on these resources absent our selfish motives and ambitions. Our desire to do good with the power we posses should come from our willingness to actually do it. Otherwise, futile result can be expected and there will be no real fulfillment in the end.
The power we have should be directed towards the welfare of individual members and the SteemIt community as a whole. Not to be used to degrade or humiliate anyone or defame someone’s character. It is used to build up the community to its highest eSTEEM so that everyone is benefited.
If it is our goal to be different from other communities and if we want STEEM to be recognized as a unique digital currency, let us use our power to define our character.
