Today I will inform you of the story of how Rockefeller secured his fortunes while a criminal investigation was issued against him.

The Sneaky Devil We Call Rockefeller

After several investigations and lawsuits were launched, the Supreme Court, in 1911, came to a striking conclusion!

Standard Oil is a monopoly in restraint of trade and should be dissolved.

The Supreme Court of the United States declared.

Rockefeller quickly heard of this decision during a golfing trip in Kykuit.

Rockefeller devised a plan to sell his entire company to a priest he was golfing with at the time. Just for safekeeping...

Within a few years, the shares that Rockefeller had entrusted with the priest doubled, then tripled in value.

By the time Rocfeller had cashed out, he had the greatest persoanl fortune in recorded history.

It seemed as if no invention could derail Standard Oil, it's power was too great.

Competition is a sin.

Evolve And Adapt

Following the mentality I have mentioned above, the oiligarchs competed for world domination, this caused a constant flux of the price of oil.

This made most engine manufacturers adapt and create machines which could handle a number of different fuels.

In the places where oil was scarce or unavailable, the only available alternative was ethyl alcohol.

Ethyl Alcohol

Even though the price of alcohol was generally higher, the constant supply was alluring.

One of the early adopters of alcohol fuel was Henry Ford by designing the Model T which could run on either gasoline or alcohol.

Little did Ford know he was about to start a protest from Standard Oil's adversaries, who would conspire to use ethyl alcohol as a means to bring down the oiligarchs.

This was a very informative documentary.
