Nice post dear. You got it right. The fact is that conventions restricts people. There was a day my brother's friend did not achieve an aim while his friend did, and he was trying to console himself, so he said "well, all fingers are not equal"

I shouted at him and told him even though all fingers are not equal, he should not allow his own to be the shortest.

In fact, I hate some of this adages as they don't allow a lot of people to try to do better.
