The Joy of Love and It’s Power to Heal: A Writing on the Healing Power of Love

Recently I did a post on The Power of a Positive Attitude to honor those people who, day in and day out, make the best of each situation with a positive perspective and a determination to see the brighter side of life. These people inspire me to be like them, and although hard, I have learned that it is a journey worth taking. I’ve learned that being positive and having it returned, is like a balm of soothing relief to the pains and hurts that are encountered by each negative situation we face or experience

“The human mind and what we've achieved with it is remarkable.
But it does not come close
to what we can do, be, see and heal with our hearts”
― Rasheed Ogunlaru

I’ve also learned that it is so easy to get hurt by a slight by someone else which may or may not be understood at the time. Sometimes the pain of that action or inaction stabs you right in the heart and goes directly into your gut. You get that queasy feeling of imbalance and if allowed to grow, you soon learn that it can fester and bring you down more and more. Your positive attitude turns to self-doubt, and the self-doubt weakens your confidence and resolve to be a better person.

When you start to go on a downward spiral, you allow all those voices that haunt you, to manifest into self-beliefs, that there must be something wrong with you. When patterns repeat itself over and over again, throughout your life, the beliefs become your truisms. With this change in perspective, you then draw the very things that you don’t need or want. It can result in giving up or making a life decision to reverse the downward cycle and swim upstream like the Salmon. You know it is an upward battle and you question if it is worth it.

“Love is an element which though physically unseen
is as real as air or water.
It is an acting, living, moving force...
it moves in waves and currents
like those of the ocean.”
― Prentice Mulford

Just when you are at this crossroads in your life path, something wonderful happens. You meet and encounter wonderful people and loving situations that bring that gentle touch of warmth and love you so desperately need. Suddenly you find that fire that burns so deep in your gut and then you draw strength from it. You develop a new determination that you will turn this lemon into lemonade and fight to be stronger with more positive outlooks. You are determined never to fall that low again. You are also determined to pass it forward to help others.

Suddenly your life looks brighter. In truth, you still stumble and fall, have set backs and hurts, but you still get up and continue forward. There will be good days and bad but the important thing is that you still have that element of positivism which draws in more loving situations. With these unexpected episodes of love, you find that there is new energy and a brighter day. You begin to shine more. The dark days become brighter and your spirits rise. It is such a feeling of awe that you can’t describe it in words. But you know the feeling. It feels good and it feels like all the relentless pain starts to heal and weaken.

The point I am trying to make here is that the joy of love truly has the power to heal. Love has that awesome ability to turn things from dark to light, sadness to happiness, despair to hopefulness, emptiness to fullness, being lost to being found, being stressed to being peaceful, from hate to love. In the world in which we live today, we need to begin with ourselves first by loving ourselves fully and then passing it on. Like a ripple in a still pond, one small action leads to the outward push of positive energy flow beyond that one simple catalyst of love. Can you imagine what a beautiful effect it would have as it continues to ripple outward, changing everything to a new element of hope and happiness for all?

Love is so powerful when it is given in the purest way like the simple act of reaching out to help someone or a kind gesture with no expectations for self-gain. Pure love can be felt on a higher level and it is so powerful, you can be lifted up so high that you can almost fly. Would it cost you anything to extend that powerful love to make someone’s day better? Have you ever thought that when you give pure love that you would get it back ten-fold?

So the next time, when you have that opportunity, try to be more positive and loving. In Steemit, make a comment that is meant with good intentions to make someone feel good about what they wrote. And if someone puts their all into what they wrote, just a little thank-you would be a kind gesture in return. Just like in physics where for every action, there is a reaction, the same goes for social media.

“Something Magical happens,
when we Accept Love into our hearts,
when we learn to Love Ourselves,
when we live in Love.”
― Akiroq Brost

A little love does not cost you anything but a little hate can cost you everything. Our life is too valuable and precious to waste it on something so trivial and petty. Let’s turn everything around by spreading a little love. When there is hope there are possibilities. When there is love, there is a brighter future. :D

What a beautifully written, beautifully constructed post! You are a marvelous author @cabbagepatch. I try to live by the 'ripples in a still pond' sentiment, sending out little sailboats of love on the ripples...going in all directions, to all ports, never expecting them to return but to keep on sailing and spreading the love :)

Your warm and positive message always falls on a receptive soul here and I am enriched by simply reading your posts. You have a reader for life and I thank you for your kind, caring words!! Hope you are having a fantastic week :)

@tamaralovelace thank-you so much for the beautiful comments you made. It really has deeply touched me. Once again, I was inspired by some comments, including yours, and how it touched me in a good way. When people send love and positive vibes, it does wonders for anyone. Love is such a power feeling to really make a dark situation brighter. Many of us always have a tendency to have doubts and sometimes we can easily get hurt or down when we encounter situations that may hurt us. So that is why I was so inspired to write about encouraging people to be more positive and passing forward love and joy. There is too much negativity in this world and we have the power in us to make it better. Thank-you for your inspiring words and friendship. It is very much appreciated! Thank-you at @tamaralovelace! :D

You just have away reaching into that place we sometimes hide from people. This is a wonderful post and I really know what you are bringing across. Thank you for this it is morally so true.

Bigbear, I somehow missed your comment. I guess I was so busy working in the Steemiteducation article that I must have missed it. Also I haven't been sleeping at night. For a couple of nights, Lady had diarrhea every hour throughout the night so I was run down. My deepest apologies for this oversight. Thank-you so much for your wonderful comments. I have been very lucky at being able to write because my feelings have been so deep and passionate. I really appreciate your your wonderful comments and of course your support. I always look forward to hearing from you. Thank-you so much!!! :D

@cabbagepatch. Thank you. You are love in action.

@healingherb, I am so sorry for not responding to your comment. I must have my head on backwards!!! I hope you are doing well. It was so kind of you to comment and support me. Like I said so many times before, you will always be fondly remembered! Lady, my dog will be starting oral chemo on Tuesday so I think I will have long nights taking her outside. I hope you are doing well. Wishing you a wonderful weekend! Again, thank-you so much. Please take care! :D

I agree with your opinion. I hope to make this steemit world a positive world with love.

I think you already are! :D
