“DO NOT RESUSCITATE” TATTOOS ..... life after the course

Our Minister of Health says that every person in the Netherlands is always entitled to refuse medical assistance, including resuscitation, and that she does not desire a uniform expression of this special treatment ban in these cases.

A treatment ban may be indicated in all forms and is binding as long as there are written characters. Like a tattoo.

Yesterday When I was a the medical aid and AED course, that was one off the questions.

Well the answer was Y E S , if you want to! WTF
If I want to? So i decide?! No, I hope I never have to use All this New knowledge but if I am in a situation Where I See someone in need I have to act immidiately and wont ask questions :
I JUST DO IT!

I dont want to but There is a need for speed and knowledge so Lets take charge. When you start your procedure and find a tattoo like the ones above, you are allowed to stop! But can you handle the fact that eventhough you have the knowledge, someone died under your care and hands? You have to live on. Maybe My religion says I cant obey the order tattoo.

That one I didnt See coming. Thats a question about life and dead.

Well the teacher told us : You start up the RESUSCITATION and wait for the paramedics and they have the authority to make that call. They are used to these situations. There are neckleses to with this NR wish but often When someones down on the ground the badge is not in sight or under the body that way its most likely that you also already started the CPR before finding out this last wish pendant of the injured person.

It got me thinking about it All day yesterday, and i even dreamed about it! What Will i do , what Will you do? I want to save you, or another life but if you dont want me too, I have to respect that but also have to live with the fact I let someone die under My hands, eventhough I had the knowledge to save. 😬

Its a mind fuck!! I decided to let the situation, if it does occur, be the time and place to react or dont react. Hope it never comes to that.
