Phobos Still Flying High!

in #life7 years ago

A few days ago I did a post about The Professor who is an unlikely story of an undersized individual who has made a career out of playing basketball all over the world despite being 5'10" and 140 pounds.  That inspired me to make this video.  Growing up I always wanted to dunk.  I was constantly jumping up and touching the top of the door jam, always trying to touch the net, then the back board, then the rim.  I progressed to dunking a grain of sand, then a skittle, then a gobstopper, eventually a baseball, then a softball, onto a mini basketball, then a volleyball, then a women's ball, and eventually I arrived at dunking a men's basketball.

For anyone who has played basketball you probably realize that dunking is the holly grail.  Anyone can at some point hit a three pointer but only a very small percentage of people who ever step on a basketball court will ever elevate above the rim and throw down a dunk.

I diagnosed myself with a Dunking Fetish at an early age.

This was actually the first time I ever got my toss up "alley oop" myself dunk caught on video.  I worked from 6am to 10am and then went to LA Fitness and felt pretty good despite being a little tired.  My legs were feeling pretty fresh and I was able to put down a couple of dunks between the games.  Right at the end I had one of the guys I play with take a quick shot of my dunk and then I stayed around for a few more after the place cleared out.  It felt really good to be able to put some decent dunks down.

My athletic ability has never diminished.  Hopefully I can continue that trend until they figure out how to reverse the aging process.  Here is the video I shot today.

Any other Steemians have a particular sports obsession?

Thank you for reading my post and please consider following me @brianphobos

Thanks! I'm jealous of the guys who aren't tall but can do crazy windmill dunks and stuff but I was happy to still be able to elevate to that level.

Check you out @brianphobos... that's some pretty cool moves! Keep dunking, keep posting!

WoW. Must be the air up there.

Yeah, I'm not sure what got into me!

I thought you became a flight attendant. :-)

That would be kind of nice if I got to travel internationally!

I think the job starts of exciting at first but then you become mundane or you love it because of your passion for it. Guess that's kind of similar for many roles.

I could imagine it would get old pretty fast potentially unless a person was able to pick different routes and stay there for a few days when it was somewhere exciting.

I think it depends on the route on how long you stay and what time the flight arrive too. From Singapore, all the flights are international and some flight time coud be only an hour. So, I guess they may even come back on the return route unless it's the last flight out.
I don't think you change routes every other day but maybe more often than once every half year. Check out @gladysmak to read the life of a flight attendant a bit more. :-)
