If you want to touch a random stranger make sure you touch them with kindness, this way you don’t end up in jail.

At some stage in a persons life they might have a day or a period that they feel on top of the world, everything seems to be playing out in their favor and life simply could not get any better, the chances are that that same person has also experienced a day or period where he/she felt as if they were trying to climb a Vaseline coated wall just to escape his/her own reality.

My point here is it does not matter what you see when you first look at a person, the truth remains that you do not know what road they have travelled that lead up to that very moment where they are standing in front of you as the person they are.
Whatever the case may be when you meet someone for the very first time you hold the choice in your hand of how to approach that person.

You can choose to stereotype based on prejudice notions, you can put up the fury of your self-defined firewalls, or you can show kindness.

Given that you simply just do not know what battles the person might have fought or even still be fighting, I’d say kindness might not be the worst option here.

The way I see it the little things in life truly do make a difference, and kindness really can not hurt. Oh, and I am not saying over impose your every grain of being in order to do this – You do not need to make cupcakes and hand them out to every Stanger that passes by especially not if you are on exceptionally strong medication or if you are delivering kindness with hope of winning favor: NO

I am saying, when you are in a position of choice, simply do the good that you can when you are able to, even if you are sceptic.
It has happened in my life where I have felt completely and utterly beat; Beat by life and everything that it managed to hurl in my direction, despite every attempt to stay the most positive person that I could be given the circumstances whilst conjuring up the power to try and manifest better tomorrows at the same time. So many times that I have been in that position it would be one random act of kindness that would make me realize that there is a light at the end of the tunnel other than the one attached to the couch of the freight train that was heading in my direction while I was tied down to the rails. Somehow one second of kindness can make you realize that there is still good out there.

When you are standing at the edge of your mind looking for ways to get out as you sink into a wallowing pit of despair and anguish you might find that one simple act of kindness from a stranger might have you thinking that if someone who doesn’t know me from a bar of soap could care enough about me to show me kindness, then I should matter enough to get through my own disasters.

Who knows you might just pay it forward, if you could be touched by kindness, no matter how big or small, so could others, you never know but it will never hurt to try.

Maybe your act of kindness will fall on someone unappreciative of it, but hey the worst case scenario in this case is that you will learn to be more appreciative. Also given the fact that as stated above you do not know the other persons journey, what appears to you in that moment as unappreciative could have been misinterpreted or even reflected upon later by that person.
Your kindness could also be mistaken for weakness at times, but this is just adding fuel to the fire of you that person could be in for a surprise when he realizes that your kindness is not a weakness but a superpower that in actual fact feeds your soul and mind.

And maybe just maybe your kindness is received by someone who really needed it and you changed the course of their lives in a beneficial way.
