1 BILLION DOLLARS!!

News broke yesterday that a new record has been set in the fight against drug, with a haul of 1.2 tonnes of methamphetamine siezed from a boat at the marina in Geraldton, Western Australia in the early hours of Thursday morning.

The state and Federal police operation resulted in the interception of over 1 Billion Dollars worth of the drug, which is one of the biggest scourges of society here in Australia.

While some may argue that some banned drugs should be legalized for whatever reason, meth is not one of them. Meth is a big problem, and is wrecking lives all over the world. There is nothing good about it. The affects it has on peole taking it, and those around them is horrendous.

Keeping this much off the streets is a big win against the drug trade, but I know there is still a lot more which gets through, and is probably produced inside our borders.

The fight against drugs continues, and I applaud the hard work that has gone into intercepting such a large quantity on this occasion. Hopefully this leads to a lot more arrests, and helps to get authorities closer to the source of where the drugs are coming from.

That nasty stuff has hurt too many people and is not slowing down. Lets hope this does lead to more sources to shut it down.

It's a really big problem here. I'm really glad this cargo didn't make it onto the streets.
