I've been wondering what makes one think there should be a minimum or maximum hourly wage.
What compels one to lobby their fellow man for an inflation causing minimum wage hike? There should be no minimum wage, nor maximum wage. One should be able to freely exchange goods and services free of government intervention with other likeminded individuals.
This fight for 15 is ludicrous, why not the fight for $50? Then we'd all be on easy street right? Oh what's that you say? That's too much? Why?
The myth of the living wage is perpetrated upon the downtrodden in society, it's always the successful individual's fault that the "less fortunate" can't get ahead. It's the blame culture that traps you! Take ownership of yourself and your problems and decide for yourself and nobody else what changes you are going to make to improve your life.
$15/hr job puts you in the top 1% of earners in the WORLD, just because you were LUCKY enough to be born on the "right" patch of dirt on this sphere hurtling through the universe you DESERVE $15/hr for the most elementary of jobs?
Do you realize the inflationary pressure that will put on the economy? You may get a raise on paper, but that money will buy less than it did before, much like getting a raise at work that takes you into the next tax bracket so at the end of the day you lost money.

I'm pretty sure getting a raise that puts you into the next tax bracket cannot lose you money. Only the money made above that tax bracket is taxed the higher amount.

It's crazy the amount of inflation this creates, the people who end up paying in the long run are the poor bastards in the 99% paying for inflated goods on the same salary North Americans made in the early 1900...
My apologies for the delay in my reply. The folly of most is they fail to realize where the money comes from when they run out of other people's money.
The type of people who only care about making minimum wage are the type who have no concept what it will do to the economy and local jobs. It's the exact same result as taxing more and just giving everyone a handout. No matter what, you'll be paying for and out of that $15.
Minimum wage jobs were never intended to be more than a stepping stone in a persons career.
I agree. The only reason the left is advocating this from the TOP is because they have sold all of our good manufacturing jobs to NAFTA & the WTO. Now all we have is crappy ass service jobs which pay absolute shit. Some people just want to work at a factory. (They're not going to school or startin their own biz.) Those jobs are far & few & even lately car plants have had to scale back because sales have dipped.
Don't rely on your country to provide for you, rely on you to provide for your family with the skills you've been provided by your family. It's only then that the human race accelerates.
Awesome post man. I fundamentally believe that where your at currently in life is where you want to be at this moment. Yes life is hard, yes sometimes the economy doesn't help but I don't agree that a burger flipper should be making the same as a skilled laborer. If you want to get paid more then create more value . I might get some hate for this comment but it is what it is.
