LOVE : Type 8 (MANIA)
Mania love can also be referred to as Obsessive Love. It is a mix between Ludus(playful love) and Eros(passionate and lustful desire)Manic lovers speak of their partners in possessives and superlatives, and feel they "need" their partners. Love is a means of rescue, or a reinforcement of value.
These individuals tend to be emotionally dependent and they need fairly constant reassurance in a relationship. You will always hear questions like "do you still love me" or "tell me you will always love me" or "promise me you will never leave me" on a regular basis in a Mania relationship. Someone with this love style is likely to experience peaks of joy and troughs of sorrow, depending on the extent to which their partner can accommodate their needs.
Because of the possessiveness associated with this style, jealousy can be an issue for these individuals. This is not a recommended love type, we should all try to get a grip of our emotions not matter how much we feel attached to our partners. Manic love can instead scare away the person we are afraid to loose.
