The Non-Majesty Of Nature (when Mother Nature has PMS)
People tend to focus on the sublime and beautiful species of life that our world has to offer. This is Myopic and seems "Speciesist". That is a word I just made up to defend the rights of The Blob Fish or the Vulture or the Chupacabra...
I think of Wolves and Hummingbirds and beautiful Koi Fish when meditating in my Yurt as I gaze upon God's creations...
then Mother Nature seems to be all out of F's to give and/or has a warped sense of humor.
What is the nature of "Nature"? If it is all about survival versus inspirational creations then I would love to share with you some animals that are just as deserving of love as your most cherished Canine or Feline.

I do think all animal are worthy of being love and compassion. At least they don't merit being hurt or their life taken from them without justification.
Agreed! That was one angle of this post was questioning what merits compassion or worth..... By the way people eat all of those except the Naked Mole Rat just (gag)

I totally agree that all the creatures are deserving of love, except maybe the humans ;-)
All the other creature fit within the balance of nature and do their thing admirably. Humans on the other hand have really done nothing but destroy the planet and continue to do so at an outstanding rate.
I think ONLY God can love humans. As those created in the image and after the likeness of God I wonder what we're missing.

Just guessing here but I imagine that our understanding of God is severely skewed by the teachings of the many religions trying to maintain their power bases.

For example, if God created this Earth then by definition God must be an extraterrestrial by definition since He did/could NOT create Himself. I also suspect that extraterrestrials aren't the cutesy, bug-eyed greys in most people's imagination.
PS - I do believe in a God and have great respect for what I think is His plan and purpose. It's sorting the details that's fun.
