The Rise Of Over-Equalization Of Genders - Why Men And Women Can't Be Fully "Equals"

Before we start, I just wanna clear out that the purpose of this post is not to challenge anyone's beliefs or their sense of identity, or to offend anyone in any way. I'm simply trying to deliver an idea which you are free to either understand or deny if you feel threatened.

The term equality between the genders gets thrown around a lot these days. I'm sure you guys have noticed the same how people seem to offend over things that should be common knowledge, and argue that everything between men and women should be equal.

That, however, can never be the case because of the simple fact that men and women are more or less different from each other and are arguably better than each other in some cases, depending upon the situations you put them in.

I'm gonna try my best to explain this concept without offending anyone but I really need you guys to be a little open-minded for this. I suggest the readers to read the entire article first before making a comment.

The 'Rights And Responsibilities' Mess

In almost every argument between people regarding this topic, you'll often see how one person aggressively expresses their thinking of how the society is male dominant, and how everything should be equal between men and women in order to promote the idea of gender equality.

But you see, the thing is, rights are given to those who can bear the burden of a particular responsibility. For example, if I give you the right to make changes in this article, it's because you are responsible enough for me to give you that right.

What some people fail to understand is how both the genders are naturally pre-equipped with some particular qualities that allow them to do certain tasks better than the other gender.

A plumber or a mechanic is usually a man, not because women can't do the job, but because men are generally and arguable better at that job than women because that job requires a lot more physical strength.

Saying that isn't sexist, it's just common knowledge. It's not sexist to say that men are naturally physically stronger than women, it's just a fact. On the flip side, women are generally better at men when it comes to responsibilities that require patience and care-giving.

Again, that's not sexist. That's just the way we are. A nurse is almost always a woman, not because men can't take care of somebody, but because women can arguably do that job better than a man, and it's completely fine to admit that.

None of the genders chose those qualities for themselves, but were given to us by nature. There wasn't a meeting held by our ancestors where they decided that men should hunt and women should take care of the family, no, both the genders just adopted to the qualities they evolved with and accepted their responsibilities.

Equality Can Be Tricky

I've already seen how some people absolutely avoid talking about this topic, fearing that they will offend someone and will start an unnecessary argument, and I can totally see why that is the case.

People can be very aggressive with their beliefs, and seeing how some people take offence to the most trivial of things, it's understandable why some people would want to avoid the topic entirely.

Most of us still don't really want to have a conversation with someone who doesn't share our thoughts and ideologies, no matter how much we encourage it and see it as a way of personal growth.

Just to be clear, I'm not saying that either of the genders should be forbidden from the jobs performed by the other gender. What I'm trying to explain is the reason why things are the way they are.

Most soldiers are men, not because women can't fight in a war, but because men are more physically resilient and capable of bearing more torture if the enemy holds a soldier captive to reveal secrets and valuable information, and also because we as a society can't afford to lose women because ultimately, they are the ones who give birth and add life into the world.

If a woman wants, she can most definitely become a soldier. If a man wants, he can be a full-time househusband too. It's not the question of choice here, but the question of ability.

Most men won't be able to perform the same tasks that women traditionally do with the same efficiency, same goes for women too. A woman can be a construction worker too, but admittedly she won't be as efficient as a man because the job requires more of physical abilities.

A man can be a therapist or a receptionist too, but usually he won't be as efficient as a woman because the job requires more of emotional abilities like convincing and communicating.

The thing is, we will always step closer towards a future where both men and women are complete equals, without actually reaching a point of absolute symmetry between them.

I would absolutely love to have a conversation with you guys if you would like to share your thoughts on this subject. Perhaps some new and different perspectives can help us understand this better.

I totally agree with you... and it's not at random that most sports have different categories and men and women don't play together.

One just needs to compare the Olympics Records in the various fields from Men and Women to realise that if we treated them exactly in the same way, there would be no record set by a woman, ever. The men would own all the records.

However, if you say that out loudly, specially here, in Europe, you will quickly be accused of being sexist. 😂

Nice article, @ayushjalan! I wanted to answer earlier but I was only able to do it now.

Glad you agree with my views. I think the reason why people term everything to be racist or sexist or whatever these days is because they've been overfed the idea that all humans should be treated equally no matter what, when in reality, that's literally impossible. Our behavior and way of communicating is depended on the person we are speaking to.

It's okay if you couldn't reply early. As long as you do, I'm grateful :)

Not even man vs man can be equal.

Every person is different.

Rightly said. Our differences are what makes us unique :)
