I had ordered a set of plans to build a Formula 27 Sportscar, very similar to a Lotus/ Birkin 7 with more advanced Front Suspension.
Had plenty of discussions with the Designer and asked what alterations I would have to make to do a Rover V8 engined one?
Will follow up on this later!
It is the 14th of July 1980 I am on my way to Lucas, stop at a Traffic Light , Wow ,it's My Birthday 34 years Old , man ,am I over the Hill!
Ride up the ramp, stop my Z 900 and realise , Hang on, I am 33 today, that's not so bad?
It has also been a year or two since I was playing in a Band! ( setting up for next edition)
1980 was also the Year that the most radical looking Bike design up to that point , The Suzuki Katana was released in South Africa.
Used the same Motor as the GSX 750 and 1100 models but tweaked for a bit more power., and the 1100 Model was one Bike that my Modified Kawasaki could not beat.
Every Morning I was dropping Wayne off at School on the way to Lucas.

@awgbibb - Wow - You seem to have had quite an interest in cars if you tried to build a formula 27. It was way out of my league in those days unfortunately. I do remember the Suzuki Katana though. It WAS like a Katana - Powerful, swift and sharp!! Showed all those Harley lovers what a superbike could do Thanks for sharing. Made me nostalgic. Upvoted.

The formula 27 is one powerful car.
The sheer power is just truly amazing but it is nothing compared to the Suzuki Kantana. What a beautiful bike.
