[⚠ WARNING: FOOD] I walked around a Ramadhan Food Market (Bazaar) and the food is amazing!
It was a fun day strolling around a Ramadhan Bazaar.
First and foremost, to all Muslim Steemians who are fasting, Ramadhan Kareem!
It's the 3rd day of Ramadhan or the month of Fasting. Being a Muslim majority country where I am. It's quite a big thing. Especially when it comes to food. It's just common sense that if you are to fast from twilight to sunset, you'd want to eat delicious prepared food.
And for non-Muslims like me, there's only the best of both world. I get to eat delicious food without fasting for it. And the food is just AMAZING! Rows and rows, stalls after stalls each offering mouth different watering foods and drinks. This post would be too long if I include photos of what I see today.
I really admire these folk's perseverance to be able to not eat and drink anything the whole day.. Especially when they have to barbecue stuff in front of hot coal and smoke, looking at the delicious barbecued delicacies.
Just look at it. Tell me you're not already wet in the mouth!!
For those who may be sweet-toothed. There are these "layered cakes". They may look like bricks but I assure you, you're gonna have some tastebud-gasms after trying these. 😏😏
There's also these "apam balik"s that is simply irresistible to me. I can talk on and on about it. In fact, if anyone's interested, I may do a future posts on this! Or I might do it regardless of interest. Lol!
I hope you guys like today's post. And to those who may be be seeing the pictures while fasting, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
I also hope that no one will feel offended after seeing some of the "trigger words". The truth is that fear and hate is only being spread by a vocal 1%, regardless on which side they are on. The other 99% of us just wants to live as best as we can in a world where we try to make it as best as it can be.
Atheist, Christians, Muslims, regardless of what you believe, there could be peace as long as we see each other as fellow humans who are on this world together. And honestly, there is no better proof of this than the day to day going on of where I live here. There are 5 different majority races here with at least 36 other sub-ethnics living in a state across a few small towns.
Thanks again for enjoying today's post!
Candid (read : ugly) pic of me drinking pure coconut juice during the breaking-of-fast time.
I'm @awesomianist
Stay Awesome.
I just like to add quickly that this post is wholely written, uploaded and edited using @good-karma's Esteem Android App. You can read his latest post on it here:
Thanks @good-karma! It's easier for me just because I use both laptop and smartphone but imagine the potential this app brings because it connects those previously restricted without laptops or computers.
Good Read! Festive Food is really the best here in Malaysia
Ditto Dorito! Even if everything else here is has become a joke. The food is syill definitely serious!
Bro, is this the one at Singapore?
Malaysia, specifically Sarawak. But I think I know where you meant. Bugis Street in Singapore is awesome as well. Been there myself. Haha.
Ah ic... bugis street is not bad I guess but I'm more interested with the Geylang Serai Ramadan Bazaar 2017 ! Lots of blogger is blogging about it too.
That looks delicious. Thanks for sharing. I've fasted periodically, and great smelling food always makes it harder.
THANKS FOR STOPPING BY MY POST!! I FEEL SO HONORED!
Well I don't fast for religious or spiritual reasons. I do perform intermittent fasting as it's good for the health. But with the Muslim fasting month and the good food here. Fasting for health can wait!!!!!
Amazing pics!
The place is crowded!
Love the street food:
We have something similar like this in India!
Why are street foods so tasty, man!
I can honestly no 5 star restaurant can imitate the goodness street food, theres just something about them!
especially when it's street food... DURING A FESTIVAL!
Man.. You shouldn't have posted it. Now I feel so hungry LOL
You have been warned! But if you're fasting, take this as a test and you'd get more pahala at the end of the day?
Hehehehe.
LOLLLL
But then again.. If you're not. Come over here for a vacation! Things are damn cheap here if you have American or European money. Plus, the "white privilege" here simply guarantees you get good service all the time just because locals love westerners around these parts, not being racist or anything!
damn this stuff looks good, save me some !!! :)
Hit me up anytime! If you're around I'll bring you around the best place in town!
