YOU ARE UNIQUE

When I was a kid, I had idols that I look up to,
Mariah Carey, obviously for singing, Drew Barrymore, for her outstanding performance on every movie she’s making, And Jennifer Lopez for her dance and singing skills.

I idolized them and wanted to be like them, the way they sing and dance and even the way they dress, that was back then,

Now when I remember those days, I laugh at myself 😂😂😂,

It’s natural when you’re young, because you don’t know your own identity, we copy those who we idolize, but time will come you will realize that idols are just there as an inspiration, we are not going to be them or like them, We are unique in our own special way.

This is something we always tend to ignore, giving time to learn more on our own identity and skills.

That’s why parents and teacher should be careful on the words that they are saying to their kids when it regards to their skills and abilities,

Some discouraging words are like these:

”You are really nothing when it comes to Math, compare to your sister”

”Why don’t you be like your best friend a valedictorian”

Because they are kids and still on the process of developing their ability and knowing their identity, they’ll believe whatever their parents or teacher would say, they will be the kids basis on what their identity is,

They are being judge at their young age, and because they are always compare to others, they will never improve and discover that they have their own unique identity,

Some kids are lucky, because while growing up, they can able to free from that thinking and judgement, but most of us got stuck on that thinking that we are nothing but a mediocre,

That’s why some of us, even if they are old already, still are copying ones identity, or sometimes we are being locked to the idea that we don’t have talent and won’t be able to succeed.

Intelligence is not just the brain itself, it is combination of brain, human qualities, experiences and perspectives, Everyone of us is unique and different from each other, We are a masterpiece of God,

We can continue to be inspired by our idols, but one thing that you shouldn’t forget is that you have your own abilities and identity, Cause you are Unique,
