Is Worry Draining your Joy?

in #life6 years ago

Worrying is one thing that we almost can never get rid of, it takes over us most times without notice and we almost always dwell in it, letting it steal the joy out of our day. We almost always find ourselves worrying, whether it be worrying about the future, about what others think about us, about our appearances or how to get food on our table. The list is just endless.

I believe that each day comes with enough energy to handle the problems that come with the day, channelling that energy into worrying instead of enjoying the day and making it better for you and your loved ones isn't only futile but produce really bad fruits.

Have you ever sat down enjoy a really interesting movie, or doing something you really enjoy, and then worry suddenly creeps into your mind? I guess that was the end of your fun-time, right?

Worry is interest paid on trouble before it falls due.-- W.R. Inge

Why pay the interest when it isn't due yet? Constant worry only breeds anxiety and instils fear in us, and living in fear isn't what anyone will want for him/herself.

Worrying wouldn't prevent problems from arising or help us solve problems. If you are faced with problems that you have no control over, let it unfold and channel your energy into something positive, and if you have control over it go ahead and sort it out, don't sit worrying.

Being conscious of our feeling once we start to worry might help us get rid of it. Worry brings sadness and we definitely don't want to dwell in that feeling of sadness. The moment you notice sadness creeping in try to get rid of it, find something of interest that will distract you from that state.

I believe that being able to develop faith will go a long way in helping you curb your worries. Once you are able to develop faith you would have dealt with most (if not all) of your worries. Faith gives one a sense of security and a belief that thing will definitely go as they are supposed to.

No problem has ever been solved by worrying, it will only steal the joy out of the present and hinder us from enjoying it and getting the most out of it. Instead of worrying about the things that might go wrong, how about shifting our focus to the things that are right?

Most times we can't help to worry over this and over that ...even though we have little or no power over them...why no channel that energy in the right direction and you would sure see how wonderful you life would become.
