Death is a Killer

Sadly last year my friend was added to a long list of statistics who lost their lives to London's Knife Crime.

He was a young lad in his prime with a young family, loved by many and respected in his community.

the turn out to his funeral was amazing over 300 people attended some knew him, some didn't but felt they needed to say goodbye and support a grieving family.

I wrote a poem that evening that summed up how i felt after the emotional day and i wanted to share it with you all.

Death is a killer
A killer of family
A killer of trust
it comes in unexpectedly and turns worlds upside down
it changes lives
removes people
breaks hearts
Death is ugly
it cries constantly
It hurts Continually
it confuses us
Its a stealer of smiles
its a joke no one laughs at
its silent
its very real
its inevitable

The truth is we all live in death
life goes hand in hand
we are blessed that between the ugly truth that death will come to us all we can laugh, smile and make memories together, be in love! Death brings so much sadness but it also makes us united.

Death always wins but life makes death worth it.
