How did I get to crypto?

Hello steemit community! So, how did I get to know what cryptocurrency is?
Well, everything started from stupid comment under stupid youtube vid. Random guy just texted me, relating to my comment, so I replied, and progressively We started talking, mostly about music and travelling. During the conversation, I mentioned that I need some money, and that I'm looking for a job, so He said that I could spread leaflets for him for half cash, half BTC. And I was like nuh-uh honey, I don't want to be kidnapped/dismembered... But excuse me, what? BTC? I dunno about other countries, but here, in Poland, crypto is not popular at all. I didn't know what the hell was that so it was even more suspicious. He told me more about it, and now I was sure that He was bullshitting. The whole cryptocurrency idea seemed too cool to be truth. Oh I forgot, He is a programmer so I also thought that it was some kind of new thing, which only IT specialists know about, and that it wont work/maybe last for like a few months. I left the whole job topic alone, cuz I thought it's not legit. And again, I didnt want to be kidnapped xd I seriously didnt belive in his good intentions.
But, after a couple days He said that I could translate a text for him. Half in cash, half in Bitcoin.... He was so passionate about whole crypto world so I had to look it up. I saw that more than a few ppl uses it, and I started to be less sceptical . I thought why not :D I have nothing to loose, if He wont pay, that's not a big deal, buuuuut if He was honest and He will pay... Well I copuld finally earn some money. And guess what,surprise surprise, it worked xd.
Sooo, I'm in my home, safe, with all my limbs attached :D I got the paycheck babyyyy and a friend I guess? Idk what the moral is, it's just a funny/maybe interesting/maybe not /maybe a little shitty storry :D Its up to You.
I still dont know much about cryptocurrencies so feel free to share Your knowlage down below.

Hello! It's great to see you here! IMO Steemit is a good start for someone who wants to learn something about the cryptocurrencies.
