Sudan series ( 2 ) Music & dancing in our blood

In spite of wide spectrum diversity in Sudan music stand as a strong common ground for Sudanese people since ancient civilization and till now .

We are talking about approximately 600 ethnic groups , more than 200 native languages and more than 500 accent in around 1 million mile country inhibited since 5 thousand years BC .


Sudan dance

Sudan has a rich and unique musical culture . Music and dance is everywhere , wedding , preparing for war , religious ceremony , even in some area funerals have a special music and dance , the most famous show in TV is a musical show , most advertising shows use songs with good music , Sudanese culture also rich in children songs that they do in many occasion and mother to child songs . Actually you need to see by your self Sudanese passion to music to grasp a real sens about what am trying to describe :)



Wedding 

If you attend wedding in north Sudan you may find some young people came to the center of the party and demand to be hit by  a whip , it is a traditional attitude  to show braveness and manhood , women make encouraging voice ( Zaghrota ) when a man take the hits without any complain .

In most part of Sudan wedding parties are mixed either with dancing with sword (Sagria ) or religious music (Nuba) .

WAR DANCE

Music historically endorse war preparation,  by boosting moral and inspiring soldier to defend their country when they listen to songs about glory , victory , courage , scurvies  and dedication . dancing with sword is a traditional way to rise the spirits and keep it up to make all ready for possible invasion . This days dancing with sword use for entertainment only and wildly respected in Sudan

SUFI : religious spiritual music inspiring for peace 

Sufism is a common religion in Sudan , unlike some restricted Islamic groups, Sufism spread to Sudan through peaceful spiritual way , they have many ceremony contain a special spiritual music called ( Nuba ) & dancing as a group with religious songs about love & God  .

The teaching of Sufism care mainly about self improving and spirit purification through watching your behavior , avoiding sin and love other unconditionally .

ُEven our president Omer Albasher can't stand quite when he hear some music , he dance like anything, actually this is the only thing that he showed a real progress on .

First thank you for asking @acidyo , many just walk a way when they find something they disagree about .
i added this tag because simply i am introducing my country & my self in some way

i changed the tag , i found that my blog is the second blog trending in introduceyourself tag . actually the last thing i want is to affect new steemian introducing themselves negatively

No worries! I just asked cause I was browsing the tag specifically and looking for newcomers to upvote. But it wasn't so easy to find since a lot of posts weren't about newcomers introducing themselves. Thus it made it harder to find the posts I was looking for at the time. :)
