Right on time! Gotta to be amused at the magpies bomb diving the postie every day.
The postie is a really nice guy, friendly, always ready for a chat and best of all considerate. When there is a parcel he rings the bell and if we do not answer he very helpfully drops it over the 6 feet fence into the garden. A soft landing so to speak! Nice of him. This amiable pleasant postie often saves us a few trips down to the Post Office at the shopping centre.
We like him, the magpies who live very harmoniously in and around this garden think otherwise, he is someone to bomb dive! The regularity of the attack on the postie is a little funny! But, seriously now, even when it is not nesting season they go for the postie. So what is it about the posties that magpies do not like?
- Is it their noisy motor bike?
- Is it their yellow flag?
- Is it their yellow fluorescent vest?
- Is it just a bit of fun, the chase?
OR have the magpies made a group pact to have fun with the poor little posties who are only doing their job? This particular postie always checks around for a diving magpie when he gets to our place! Has a laugh and off he goes.
Thank goodness these magpies are not out to maim and kill! Or at least I do not think so.

Haha, I can't tell whether they are my magpies or not, ours are told to leave the postie along, lol.
