RE: Everywhere around the world are helpful people, you just have to ask

in #life6 years ago

Wow! The odds do seem against it, to meet someone from Switzerland who's moving to St Martin when you're doing the opposite!! Did you learn anything useful? ;)

'Just asking' is so important. Why we sometimes hesitate to do it? I do think pride has a lot to do with it. With the feeling that 'I should be able to handle this on my own'. The more we switch to an understanding of life that we are all in this together, that an other persons well-being will add to our well-being also, and the other way around... the more our resistance to finding support with each other can drop.

Love the topic and your writing style :). Following!

Pride is the main reason I guess.. People are so helpful in general actually! Whether it is to get directions, or to talk about the hard step in life...Once you ask , the door is opened at least!

Well, I think we both learned a lot about our 'new' homes and that was the main goal. Taking a bit of the stress away haha! Because that is what always pairs up with big change:

the unknowing, and that is stressfull (and cool at the same time )

Good point. The unknown - that's what it is all about right? Sometimes we think we have some control in life, but it'll just be illusion. There's nothing certain. The beautiful thing about travel and new situations is that the unknown is so very obvious. And we have to adjust accordingly. We have to be the most open, flexible, relaxed yet aware version of ourselves to respond to all the unfamiliar. Stressful, in a way. And definitely cool!!! :)
