I can so relate to the second part of your story about people meddling in your work. So annoying I had to stop making websites for clients cause they want to sit behind me and direct the process themselves.

YES! It just doesnt work like that....I once made a wall painting for a school....I get it..they wanted to look....but hey im working here....i had a different teacher enter every 5 min and of course everyone wanted to talk and pitch in with their advice and wishes..........sorry...I made the original sketch, I presented it, it got aproved and thats that....digital you can mend stuff, make changes etc....wall painting doesnt work like that.
Thats why I rarely charge....almost never really. It is the only power I have over them lol. You are not paying, you do not like it? There is the door.
Don't get me wrong, sometimes it does happen and i do get a great suggestion. I just prefer to be guided at the very start so there is as less fixing up as possible. But at the start they are all like: do what you want........yeah right lol.
