Who is Your Soulmate?

Here in Nigeria, every given Saturday there seems to be at least one wedding to attend, either that of a member family, friend or friend of a friend that is tying the knot. So it seems everybody is getting married, and they will all live happily ever after. But do you know that couples are getting divorced too? An estimated 12,000 marriages end up in divorces every year, in Nigeria alone; these figures are much higher in other parts of the world - especially the western.

There are couples who had glorious and extravagant weddings, currently living unhappily ever after? some later find out that they have a cheating partner other realized they are married to a complete stranger due to incompatibility. The point is, this mistake can be completely avoided.

So before you hop on the wedding bandwagon, here are something’s to consider if truly this person you’re thinking of tying the knot with is truly your soul mate, because the wedding is just a day’s event in front of family and friends but the marriage is forever just between the Mr and Mrs.

How do you feel about him/her?

First things first, how do you feel about this person? Do you look forward to seeing this person when you schedule a meetup? And when you are with him, do you feel like forever won’t be enough for you two to fully hang out? Conversing with him, does it stimulate and interest you? Does he make you want to be better?

See there are lots of questions to answer to be sure you’ve found your soul mate because these questions, however, answered either convincingly or not, will form the framework of your forever. If there are doubts you have about this person trash it out while you can and put systems in place to manage them or else walk out while you can, what you can’t fix while you just dating cannot be solved in marriage.

Conversation/Communication

This is one of the most powerful activities in the universe, for God created the universe out of a simple conversation. This informal interchange of thoughts, information between persons forms the basis of any given relationship; world leaders come together to talk (converse).

Usually, the subtler things make or break a marriage, do you guys have fun? How do you two have fun with the clothes still on? It’s a very important question that must be asked from time to time. When the wrinkles start appearing will you two be able to still kick it? You guys should have a common ground of things that appeal your interests.
