Privatize Liberty: Sell the Statue of Liberty Project

With all this commotion about separation of religion and state, the proof that the state IS religion is all around in the state's art and architecture.  The most famous religious relic of the state is the the giant pagan representation of the ancient Roman goddess of prostitution, personal liberty, and immigration: Lady Liberty.  The Statue of Liberty is actually the very opposite of a true representation of liberty.  It is a trick and a ruse. Everything that it is claimed to be standing for is the very opposite--a symbol of hypocrisy on a massive scale.

A grand trick has been played on the public. Imagine the vehement outcry if instead of an ancient Pagan statue on Ellis Island there was a giant metallic cross maintained by tax dollars and used as a national symbol.  The statist would cry, "Separation of church and state! We can't have religions symbolism paid for by our tax dollars!" Hmm. But the Statue of Liberty IS a religions symbol, and it is paid for by tax dollars.

Lets stop this silly hypocrisy now and demand that the Statue of Liberty be sold for scrap or at least to the highest bidder to a private party.  If true liberty is to rise, it will not be from stealing our money through taxation to pay for the expensive maintenance of ancient religious iconography by the state.  If the Statue of Liberty has any merit as a national symbol, let the people choose through free enterprise. Instead of being just another symbol of the state sucking us all dry at our expense, privatize liberty.
