Okay, so I have been away for an entire 6 days on an ISO 13485:2016 Lead Auditor training course. Sure this may sound boring, but let me tell you this.... it was boring!
Not only was it boring it was a lot of work. We had a test at the end of every day, we had homework assignments at night, and on Friday there was a two hour exam! I haven't put in this much work since I was in University.
The hardest part was being away from beautiful wife and my best friend (who is also my son) Luke. With high speed internet and so many video chat programs, it is much easier to be away from your family then it has been in the past, but it still isn't the same. Luke and I are both a little bit odd (as you can tell by our picture at the start of this post) so we really are best friends.

One of the first things I wanted to do when I got back home from my work trip was spend some time doing something with Luke. One of the many things we enjoy doing together is Lego! I have many sets of Lego from when I was a kid that we still play with. Luke received many sets of Lego for his birthday and Christmas so we took some time this morning to open up a couple of sets and put them together. I was able to get a few photos of the first set we worked on. It was a stunt truck. Luke really likes the vehicles, he plays with them for hours.

What do you do to spend quality time with your kids?

I think my favorites are blocks of all kinds (including Legos), books, and anything involving water (swimming, floating, snorkeling, water guns, water balloons). It really is nice to get back to family after being away a bit.

Thanks!
We also have blocks that we build towers with. We have had them for a few years and still have fun building them and knocking them over. We also love reading book (I have a reading with Luke series I often post) and swimming is super important for everyone to learn!

We do painting, coloring and building blocks together. Spending quality time with kids are very important

Oh man, Legos where my jam when I was a kid. In a way, I think that's what helped me stretch my creativity. Awesome of you to assemble it with your kid. I always used to play with them on my own. I hope that it has the same benefit for Luke when he grows up!

I was always an instruction follower!

Oh! I was more anarchistic when it came to Legos! Haha!

wish you Save journey back home.. Nice pictures, you are both handsome. I Don't have kids yet but playing games with my kids In future would be great

Thanks for stopping in!
Hopefully you have great memories of playing with your parents as a kid. Hope you make many more great memories when you have kids of your own!

Yay for spending time with your kids (and for training courses that aren't dull)! I love reading to my kids, and visiting my friend's ranch with them where we get to say hi to horses and all kinds of other animals. We play with blocks, too, though the bigger ones for now. They're still not quite ready for Legos, but they'll get there, and I'm sure we'll have fun with it. Glad you enjoy spending time with your family. That's wonderful! :)

I have another series called reading with Luke. It started as me reading to him... now it is him reading to me!

Welcome back! My youngest loves legos as well, but for now, it's wooden railways and making tracks, bridges and turntables. I love how his imagination runs when we're playing, something that I sorely missed with Zeppelin.

Looking forward to having another drink with you. :) I like starting my mornings with LOLs from @meesterboom but a beer every now is also good! I heard beer has a lot of therapeutic properties and is very good for health, also helps in reducing carbon monoxide emissions and for every bottle you drink, a tree grows back in the Amazon rainforest.

Well I only drink a few beers not and then. Now that I know all these great facts, I may have to start drinking more often!
Watching how they think and learn is the best part of playing with them!

Awwww that's so sweet!!!!! Xxx he is enjoying that : )

You guys are not odd, you are super cute and fun!Lego can be sooo good, reminds me to get some for my nephew even though he is only 1 years old he can start practicing already haha

Yeah, they have the Lego Duplo blocks for ages 0-3. They are large pieces. Luke use to have them. Never really built much but would play with them and put them in him mouth... luckily they are too large to fit...

HAhahahhaa I suspect my nephew will have the same scenario😂

wow very cute baby :L
