You know a few people who would be certifiable slacktivists right? The type of people who usually only ever talk about how much they want things to change, but they don't actually get out and do much to make it happen? Are you a slacktivist too?

Slacktivism (slactivism or slackervism, a portmanteau of slacker and activism) is a pejorative term for "feel-good" measures in support of an issue or social cause. Slacktivism is showing support for a cause with the main purpose of boosting the egos of participants in the movement. The action may have little effect other than to make the person doing it feel satisfied that they have contributed. Slactivism is often a form of virtue signalling. The underlying assumption being promoted by the term is that these low-cost efforts substitute for more substantive actions rather than supplementing them, although this assumption has been criticized.

I have admittedly been a bit of a slacktivist the last few years. I don't get out of the house often enough. I complain too much, and I could do more to help make the world a better place instead of just posting my thoughts on the internet all day.

Don't just sit around being a slacktivist, be an activist. Get out there and live your life. Be the change you wish to see in the world.
