The Leaf...
We take for granted things like leaves. But really the trees are so generous their leaves find their way into everything.
In India you might be invited to a friend's house for dinner. If they live in a village the food will be served on a banana leaf. How nice. Totally compostable. Even the drink will be in a banana leaf cup.
Many times, an ancient was text written on a palm leaf.
You can even have your future told by someone trained in the art of reading tea leaves.
You do have to be careful as not every leaf is friendly. If ever you contact poison ivy you'll know what I mean.
And there is the Bible. What on earth would Adam and Eve do if they couldn't find a fig leaf.
But the most significant is the Tulsi leaf. The sacred Tulsi tree is so dear to Lord Krishna that when mounds and mounds of gold, silver and precious gems were placed on one side of the scale and He was placed on the other He still was heavier. It wasn't until a single Tulsi leaf was placed on the other side of the scale that He was lifted higher.
