Nature Hiking The Landscape

It always sounds so good and well intention-ed when I pick up my grand kids for a nature hike early in the year, I assume we look so innocent going off to explore the aftermaths of natures evolving seasons. Mom standing in the doorway telling us to stay out of the water and don't get muddy while we are shaking our heads in full agreement. I'll admit being grounded and banished hasn't served as quite the deterrent she had hoped for, I have no self control over reliving my childhood memories of the countless hours spent navigating through the ruins of mother nature's fury, those were some of the best memories of my life. This past weekend she knew the call was coming, nature hike and flood exploration....yeah, right, I guess we've lost our innocence, the dry clothes and shoes were awaiting our arrival back.

after all what could be better than going to the playground....

where a prince could find his own island....

at least until a princesses comes along.....

we have been grounded for much less then this....

while looking for something to pop out of the deep abyss...

but there is much to see and learn traversing the flood line....

like mother natures ability to transform the park into something that looks like a movie set for a picnic reunion of the Adams Family....

then there's the scenes that look like a natural happenstance of it all.....

....and so many ponds what do the waterfowl do? They became segregationist just like some humans do.....
