The Most Photogenic Village in Austria
Hey, Steemians!
A couple of years ago, we went on a trip around southern Germany and eastern Austria. Our goal was to get a taste of famous Oktoberfest in Munich, but we squeezed in a couple of interesting sights to throw in some variety. It just so happened that beautiful village of Hallstatt was on our route so we stopped by to check it out.
For a tiny village it sure gets a lot of visitors but on the good side, the crowds are gone in the late afternoon and you can have the streets almost to yourself. A fun activity we truly recommend is to rent a boat and sail around the lake. It’s hard to describe the serene feeling we had when we reached the center of the lake and just sat there surrounded by mountains and water.
You can see why the entire area was marked as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Everything seemed so idyllic. Even the ducks and swans approached our boat like they knew us their whole life.

The placid black water makes it seem very mysterious! I would love to visit this place, your photographs are beautiful, but I'm sure they would not spoil the experience! I follow all lowers of Germany and Austria :D
Had the exact same thoughts setting up this post! Add the light mist coming down from the mountains and you get the whole picture. I really cannot recommend this place enough, especially if you're a fan of Austria ;)

What a cool beautiful place that is in Austria.
The place for me was standing on top the Pyramid of the Sun close to Mexico City with my wife and grandchilren. I had peaceful, mellow, exciting and awesome feelings all at he same time. And this is the reason why below.

It was so good. The youngest grandson was 5 or 6 years old and climbed all the way to the top by himself and didn't complain. He was a strong little guy.

It's an incredibly picturesque area! We regret not booking a room for the night in Hallstatt. Bet it's an amazing feeling to wake up with that view.

It’s like a place in fairy tale! Very beautiful and picturesque! Would love to be in a small sailing boat for a whole day! I love to visit Austria, especially Salzburg!
Salzburg is a beautiful town! This village is actually only about a 1 hour drive from it.
