Landscape photography: Moon over a windswept headland

in #landscapephotography7 years ago (edited)

My entry in this week's #landscapephotography contest by @juliank.

I took this image at around 6.15am on the headland at Brooms Head, NSW, Australia way back in April of 2006 with my Nikon D70. To the east, the sun was rising over the ocean, to the west the moon hovered over the horizon.

It is a harsh environment up on the headland with constant wind and salt spray. It's a wonder any plants can grow up there at all.

But nature always finds a way.

Cool shot! I’ve always wanted to visit Australia!

Thanks. And you defintely should!

From the thumbnail I was expecting the usual red Australian parched ground, especially with those silhouetted bushes. It's actually a lovely surprise to see the green and yellow growth. It's amazing how some of these plants survive these conditions.
