Tenerife. Island of eternal spring.

in #landscapephotography7 years ago (edited)

While I was thinking about the beaches and restaurants of Tenerife, I saw dozens of my photos from this island.
I want to show you these photos. Maybe somebody will see it and deciede to go to Tenerife.

Tenerife - the largest and most hospitable island of the Canary archipelago. Here you can find entertainment for every taste - from a relaxing family holiday in Puerto de la Cruz to an unforgettable dive in the south-western part of Tenerife from the bustling resorts of Las Americas and Costa Adeje to the sands of Playa de la Arena, which many attribute healing properties. Windy beaches with high waves coexist here with calm lagoons. And the biggest tourist centers on the archipelago with developed infrastructure and the famous Loro Park, which is a zoo, a botanical garden, an oceanarium and a dolphinarium, annually attract a lot of tourists to the island.

It is known that long before the first seafarers appeared here, the Canary Islands were inhabited. The ancient inhabitants of the islands were called Guanchi, which in translation from their language meant the son of Tenerife. The inhabitants of the island were distinguished by their high growth and fair skin, they were blond and blue-eyed. This does not fit into the usual idea of the islanders, and even living on the equator in the hot sun.

The origin of this people is lost in the conjectures of historians and beautiful legends of mythologists. Some historians quite seriously believe that the ancient inhabitants of Tenerife can be the legacy of a long-vanished race once inhabiting Atlantis.

The inhabitants of the Canary Islands, despite their primitiveness, had a complex social hierarchy. Each kind was governed by the Mensian and the Council of Elders. Guanchi had no metalworking skills and had no weapons.

At the same time, they mummified the dead and owned the secret of applying paint to the fabric, so that it did not burn out even under the scorching rays of the equatorial sun. They made jewelry similar to clay stamps, exactly the same stamps were found in the territory of modern Mexico.
