Some things happen in life that we cannot take back. In the blink of an eye, things change; one moment you're here and the next you're there. I'd like to live a life free of regrets, not wishing i had said this or done that, that's what this poem is all about.

REGRETS

With much shame and blame
Lost for time and words to say
A life ruined, a friend mistreated
all for the sake of pride endorsed
a thing which I have now long given up
for long hours and lonely nights
I wish for one more chance to see you smile

Thanks for reading!
I hope you enjoyed it. This poem is in response to The Kudos Poetry Competition # 3 put together by two wonderful steemians: @damianjayclay and @nikisteem

The rules to the competition are very simple and straightforward. Here's a link to the post so you can check it out.

I like that. They say you should have no regrets, but then, how would we learn? Ideally, we would regret and then forgive, ourselves as we forgive others. Not easy...

Yes well, i'd like to see regrets as different from mistakes, mistakes should be for lesson-sake. Sometimes our deepest regrets in life could be not choosing to forgive someone when we had the opportunity to do so, maybe because we were not ready to or maybe we felt we couldn't at the time but the thing is that this life does not last forever and we do not always get a second chance, when you feel ready to and that person is no longer there, it's the worst feeling ever because it could be pretty haunting knowing that someone you loved and cared about went out of this world thinking that you hate them and then when you think about the things you might have missed out on in that person's life, well, it just hurts. This is just a scenario anyways, thanks for your input! @agmoore
