올드 퀘백
Old Quebek
With the decision to start early today, we woke up at 8:00 AM to eat breakfast and get ready for Old Quebec. Although we woke up early, we discussed about how to deal with criminals and their charges and ended up leaving the house 30 minutes late. I won’t go into detail on this for personal reasons but let me know what your opinions are below!
This is a photo I took as we struggled to find a parking space.
As we left the house to our car, the wind and negative 8 degrees Celsius made us timid as to how much colder Old Quebec would be. With our warm clothes worn as if preparing for war, we took off. Filled with excitement, we never realized that we might not find parking spot because it’s the downtown. Struggling to find a parking space, we drove in circles for 30 minutes. With no luck, we decided to park at a church. This photo is a thank you to providing us with parking space and allowing us to not walk too far.
Although we found a parking spot, the weather was not helpful in anyway. We had underestimated the fearsomely cold weather. Recently, I had heard, through my friends, that South Korea was much colder than here. I can’t say which is colder because I am not back home yet, but the weather here was definitely unbearable. Most of it was probably because of the extreme winds that kept blowing. I don’t think I’ll risk trying to get images and videos in weather conditions like these again. The cold made us want to go back to our car and get out of there. Which we ended up doing without too much thought.
We hurriedly rushed back to the church we parked our car at. Even with the thought of freezing to death, I felt the need to snap pictures of the beautiful architecture and color that Old Quebec has to offer.
Although we did see all parts of Old Quebec, it was mostly consisted of souvenir shops, churches, and monumental buildings. Not that they weren’t interesting but each new building we came upon seemed like one we already saw.
