Patterns of The Altar below the Buddha Statue in Daewungjeon Hall, An Sim Sa Temple

in korea •  24 days ago

As getting close the hall, I could see the Buddha statue through the front door what looked like a window.

Only the monks can enter into the hall through the front door in Buddhist temple in Korea. I walked into the hall through the side door of the hall.

The Buddha statues in this temple seemed not so special for me.

What caught my attention was the altar beneath the Buddha statue. At other temples Where I had visited before, the patterns and the colors were not so clear due to a long time. Time takes us everything. It takes us our life. It takes our love looked forever once.

With the help of the repair, I could see the patterns and the carvings clear than in other temples.

It was sorry that I did not take a front shot. At that time I was focused on each patterns and carvings than the whole picture.

@slowwalker, These Buddha statue verry similar to Sri Lankan's Buddha statues face. Also unfortunately don't access to enter to main door to yourself. If have chance to enter there, I'm sure you were caught brilliant photo clicks inside hall. These carving patterns so delightful. My whole eyes going to attention to them nicely. Wood carvings architecture great thing of Korean Buddhist history.

Thank you for presenting the Sim Sa Temple with fine patterns of craftsmanship. People of that time were truly remarkable talent, how small and beautiful they performed these patterns.

Those are poetic statements about time, my friend,@sliwwalker!
The designs and carvings on the panels underneath the statue are so intricate. It is good that temple keepers have maintained them well. Thanks for sharing! Have a fabulous weekend.😀

This pattern remind me about a colorful world life story that must be redeemed with suffering and an eternal life of paradise without sadness, a life full of light and beauty. All that is taught by Buddha with love to all people.

That is interesting that only the monks could enter through the front door, the tourists might have been told about, otherwise it could come to misunderstanding. The carving and new treatment of the wood with the colouring of the pattern brought the pictures to its shine. Looks absolutely amazing and that every single tells different story. I like those little flowers, because of the small petals every single is carved separately and painted. It is a national treasure.
