Igniting My Inner Kpop Fan
My Inner K-Fangirl
Back then, I was a die-hard Kpop fan. I would consider myself part of the 2nd generation when it comes to the Korean groups I stan – Big Bang, SHINee, Infinite, 2ne1 – the list goes on. I would attend concerts, line-up for album launches, fill my room with posters and CDs, memorize Korean songs I barely understood, and everything else a mad fan would do.
Come the last few years in college, I was becoming more mature and lessening this so-called “addiction” by focusing more on my thesis, fixing my resume, looking for a job, and all other adult stuff which they warned us about. Aside from food, anything Korean was least of my priorities.
Or so I thought.
Last week, I finally came back to the land of the morning calm together with my highschool friends. My last visit was in 2012 and I’m back six years after. Upon landing, the cold air that brushed the tip of my nose was like Seoul giving me a friendly tap and saying “you’re back!”
HELLO, SOUTH KOREA!
My heart swelled at the feeling of returning. I knew the fangirl in me had just awoken and Myeongdong was just the perfect place to be.
It started at Etude House when I bought a few lipsticks for me and my mom. I asked the cashier if I could get a poster. "Yeah," she said. I asked how much and she said it was free. My eyes lit up. After that, I knew I was going home broke.
My friends were also very supportive. Seeing me so happy with a long boxed poster on hand, they immediately asked for their freebies as well. Reason why I have three boxes with me. (These guys are the B-E-S-T!)
Did more shopping (even if I didn't need those stuff) and I was sure I was glowing of happiness. It was simply heaven on earth.
It was a short four-day trip of burning cash and filling hearts (my heart, that is) but it definitely was worth it. Korea never disappoints and I am surely coming back. 날 기다려~
End!

LOL it only takes one instance for the crazy Kpop fan to come out again! ahaha I hope I can go back to Seoul again soon too, but hmm who do you still listen to now? BTS is probably a given. My fave groups now are Red Velvet and Twice!
