Thank you for sharing your opinion. I can't imagine how that would have felt.
It wasn't really the USSR holding unification back in 1989. Simple to say the conditions for Korean unification didn't exist. However, things may be a little different now. The key determining factor is Chinese opinion but it is too difficult to gauge. They will tolerate more cooperation, but only to a certain point. I don't think they want unification and a democratic victory in Korea it would be too difficult to spin for their own country's situation. In other words, we are waiting for the PRC to drastically change.
