Many businesses have failed in this society due to lack of Basic skills on the part of employees. On a more serious note, being a graduate and having certificates isn't the only thing that matters, the characteristics required to successfully manage a given task professionally must be possessed. I wonder why lots of graduates only present good result without the basic skills needed to make them a complete package for employers to hire. The skills behind the certificate are what is highly needed by employers.

In most cases, Employers employ for soft skills and train for hard skills. In this case, your academic result is important on a lighter mode and technical skill is critically important, hence they are part of the things Employer consider amid enrollment process.

Employability skill can be characterized as an arrangement of abilities or capabilities that enable one to get a job, maintain and retain it. They are the extraordinary individual characteristics that empower people to learn, adjust, set and accomplish objectives. It also deals with the state of mind and eagerness to learn new things.
Employability skill is important to keep a job. We need not be told that the world of work is ever changing and there has been a tremendous improvement and changes in all aspect of work as technology advances day in day out. The ability to adapt to this fast changes is part of the skills employers need. Abilities and dexterity to adjust to these new advances and other market openings which will enable their business to survive and flourish are what they crave. So it is very pertinent that the skills needed to keep a job going or to get a job is acquired.

Some of the skills that many Employers critically access are listed below

Basic reasoning

This involves one's ability to identify the various components of any given argument. one with this quality can find outcomes from what he knows, and he knows how to make utilization of data to tackle issues, and to look for relevant sources of information to inform himself.it is very important as an employee to possess critical thinking skill.there are series of puzzles that will be encountered in workplaces.it is the good reasoning skill that will be used to solve these puzzles.that is the move reason an employee must be able to procure information in other to enhance speculations to upgrade work processes and enhance social establishments.

Team work

This is the way toward working cooperatively with a gathering of individuals so as to accomplish an objective. This is also one of the skills needed by an employee. When work is assigned to a group of people and they are to see to the success of such project,all hands must be on deck in other to enable the smooth running of the work assigned to them because teamwork is an important part of business as usually fundamental for partners to function together trying their best in all circumstances. Teamwork requires cooperation, using individual skills and providing constructive feedback, despite any personal conflict within the group.

Has it implies working together as a team to be more effective, achieve a maximum and positive result. It's a skill that you must possess to be able to work in a company. It is also a collaborative way to get higher productivity You have to be really good at working with different
people irrespective of their age, religion and any other entity that might imply.

Resilence

when things go wrong, many tend to make mistakes that could cost them more. There are many things that happen in the workplace that can make one destabilized. for example, Lose of a fund, imbalance account, unintentionally Erasing vital information and so on which if not properly handled might lead to termination. It should be clear to individuals that the room to be bent and stretched will always show up in our daily life, at work, at home, at school and so on but the capacity to recover quickly from this toughness makes us resilient. Part of the skills that should be possessed is being resilient, you don't wait for the situation to fix itself, always find a way to tackle with boldness. So the energy that propels to bounce back during the elasticity period is the skill required to stay positive when things go wrong.

Having said all these, it is also very important for individuals to do some personal scanning to realize where he fits in best. Nevertheless, acquiring virtually all basic skills will give the employee an edge and adapting to changes will not be an issue at any point in time.

Persistence engagement

Having a skill is not just enough meeting and having a continuous engagement is also necessary. We all have different skills or talent individually some are Critical thinking, self-motivation, Leadership and so on

Constant engagement on something you know how to do best give you an edge for fast improvement.
To improve with continuous engagement is contesting in a knowledge base challenge that will enable you to know how good you are on that aspect.

Self development

Is the means of improving your knowledge base by searching for more knowledge, improving your skill and engaging in lectures as well as a task that will add more to that which you know.

There have been lots of blogs and articles about employability skills but I believe we all have different view/perspective on issues of knowledge based on experience wise.

Interpersonal relationship and Communication skill

These are very important attribute to have in other to get employed, you must know how to communicate fluently and have a good relationship with people/client as well as your employer. You need to be a talking type but not garrulously be a good writer and give room for improvement, be a good listener and good sense of understanding.

No employer will ever employ an interviewee with poor communication skill. The heart of every business is communication and as we all know that communication is a medium through which information is passed from one point to another, it is of utmost importance that the ability to convey information clearly is not missing amongst other qualities that should be possessed by an employee. It is also important that an employee should have a good listening ability and reflect what a speaker says by paraphrasing or repeat what the speaker has said to show that what was conveyed was highly understood. A good written and nonverbal skill is not excluded, body movement is as important as the words spelled out so displaying the right gesture is key. Also, emotions and thoughts should be easily expressed on paper, to convey meaning through well-constructed text. Having a good communicating prowess will pave a way to gain the heart of a listener

Ability to solve a problem (Overcoming challenges)

You have to be a problem solver when it is needed. The tactical approach in all areas of your field solving problems is more of the most needed skill for an employer to see in their employee, no how there must be difficulties and solutions will be needed. The ability to think and figure out a possible solution is one of the attributes that prove your quality as an employee.
Improvement is always needed to read books that are educative about solving problems, there are lots of channels on the internet where you can make research and add more to your knowledge.

Self management

Is the ability to manage your self, having the means of controlling your workspace and task assign to you.
A situation whereby you're superior at work won't have to be supervising all your task.
Self-management helps to protect and supervise yourself. These make you have more value at your workplace and don't forget improvement is always allowed to improve by asking for more task and build yourself.

Have technological skills

We all know technology trends is overgrowing on daily basis and machines are taking over human space only those with skills to manage those machines can get employed so it is very important to have a technological skill to avoid any sort of limitations. At least it is good to have how to use computer skill, some basic processes software and improvement will always be nice.

Planning and organizing

Having a set plan to execute a particular task depending on the task given and have a projected time to finish it. Organize your task in a segmented form and start at the right point, for instance 3 flat stones are arranged horizontally on each other and you were instructed to separate them, let say you went ahead and pull the third stone beneath the role even if succeeded there will be some errors and the outcome might be hazardous have good plans over task and organize properly.

The world is revolving and the best are easily selected and entrusted difficult and very important task. These skills are of great importance to anyone who wishes to work in a big organization. Every individual working in a company has a vital role to play in one way or the other to keep things moving in accordance to the company aim.
