Holy Week Procession in Seville, Spain
The only things I ever really knew about Easter were Easter egg hunts and chocolate rabbits while growing up. It wasn't until I lived in South America for several years that I realized the whole week leading up to Easter Sunday was a pretty big deal. This year I was lucky enough to be in Spain during Holy Week and chose to spend it in Seville, which I was told has one of the biggest Holy Week celebrations. The picture below is from a procession on Palm Sunday. It was pretty amazing to see several processions marching through the streets of the old historic center every day, with most of them accompanied by burning incense and a marching band playing somber music.
