This is my first entry for the Killerpix Photography Contest, #killerpix, by @killerwhale. The current theme is Hats (#haturday).
There are already a few predictable entries with flowy hats (see the comments in the contest post) so I thought I'd enter something a little different. This a shot from a studio shoot in which the model custom-created her whole outfit. I believe the hat was made from paper with gold paint, but it looked beautiful.

This photo-shoot was a group shoot: every photographer could take 5 shots and then the next photographer got his/her turn. So there wasn't much time to pay attention to details, otherwise I might have asked the model to adjust the chain on her hat a little to make it look more symmetrical (in front of her face). Either way, her pose, expression and motion of her hair are wonderful, which would have been hard to replicate in a repeated shot.
